will be re-scheduled for the next Tuesday, same time, same place.

Society Clean-up and Picnic
Place: Lock
house 31, Route 6, Hawley, PA 9AM
The Lackawaxen River Conservancy joins
the Wayne County Historical Society in their annual Lock House 31 clean-up
and picnic. The Wayne County Historical Society has launched this
project with a view to preserving an important aspect of local history and
creating a recreational trail. The
mile-long section of the canal/towpath, including Lock 31 House and the
adjoining sixteen acres, will constitute the first (in PA) public greenway
along the former canal. The clean-up will be followed by a picnic
and short wildife program.
Bring lawn
equipment: rakes, trowels, pruners, loppers, weed
whackers, gloves, etc.

time as you detrain in the Victorian village of Lackawaxen and tour the Zane Grey Museum, marvel at the
engineering masterpiece of the Roebling Aqueduct Suspension Bridge, and be on the lookout for
wildlife, including eagles.
